Welcome to Old Dogs Rock — where a love for dogs (especially the old) meets music, nostalgia and laughter

ABOUT OLD DOGS ROCK
We celebrate dogs and music with our whole hearts here. We’re visual storytellers across musical genres with a huge sense of humor—drawn to new sounds, collabs, and how music evolves. We get excited about music in a way that demands a creative outlet, and this platform is exactly that for us. In honor of our sweet namesake Rocky, who passed in 2024 from Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD), we share occasional, non-medical tips and information to help others spot the signs. Thanks for visiting our little creative corner full of dogs, new and old tunes, nostalgia, and a sprinkle of CCD awareness

🎶 Ed Sheeran’s Play Album — The Songs We’re Feeling
Released on September 12, 2025, Ed Sheeran’s new album Play lands like a bold, global-minded adventure—layered rhythms, unexpected textures, and a lot of heart. Around here at Old Dogs Rock, we love when music makes you feel something, and this record does exactly that.
“Don’t Look Down” (video attached)
Hypnotic from the first notes. It feels like standing on the edge of something brand new—scary for a second, then suddenly beautiful. The refrain—“Ahhhhhhhhh it’s almost over, don’t look down”—loops like a little personal anthem, flipping fear into possibility. We’ve embedded the video above so you can dive in with us.
“Azizam”
Instantly magnetic and quietly romantic. The line “Azizam, meet me on the floor tonight. Show me how to move like the water” puts you right in a moonlit, slow-spinning moment. It’s dreamy without losing the groove.
“Sapphire”
Give it about 30 seconds and it ignites. The cross-cultural textures are electric—we’ve jokingly dubbed it our “chamba chamba chamba” song. A favorite Punjabi lyric, “Cham cham chamke sitare vargi,” evokes “shining like the stars,” and around the two-minute mark Arijit Singh adds a lift that makes us want to dance in the kitchen with the pups underfoot.
“A Little More”
Playful, witty, and tender—prime rom-com material in our heads. It’s got that love-and-chaos energy that makes you grin at the chorus.
Others we love as well
-
“Symmetry.” That beat sticks. After one listen you’re chasing it again—“Just give me your night… Symmetry.”
-
“Slowly.” Deep and vulnerable. “Maybe I’m just a fooooool who loves you” lands right where the feelings live.
The album Play is a keeper—rich with global influences and melodic hooks that make the whole album feel fresh and expansive. It’s already on our Old Dogs Rock playlist.
